Contribution to the science/profession: Achievements include explaining the pathways and inhibition of carbonaceous solid deposition on metal surfaces from heated hydrocarbons and heteroatom species in fuel delivery systems of internal combustion engines.
Contribution to the ACS community: Served as Chair and Program Chair of the Division of Fuel Chemistry (now Energy and Fuels), helping to expand technical programming topics. Also recognized for service on the Committee on Divisional Activities and its Divisional Enhancement Subcommittee.
