Michael Siskin
Dr. Michael Siskin of ExxonMobil has been awarded the 2012Henry H. Storch Award in Fuel Science. Over a career of more than forty years, Dr. Siskin has made significant contributions to the fields of fossil fuel science, including characterization, kerogen maturation, and coal, shale and petroleum conversion. Throughout he has demonstrated a passion for scientific excellence. And, in the process, he has shown that fundamental studies can have a major impact on refinery and chemical plant processing, resource recovery, and environmental performance. Dr. Siskin’s has been an active member of the ACS divisions of Fuel and Petroleum Chemistry throughout his career. He has organized and chaired a number of symposia, both on specific topics, and also in honor of colleagues. He is a regular referee for a number of ACS journals and serves on the editorial board of Energy and Fuels. He has published over 80 papers in ACS journals and made more than 20 presentations at ACS meetings. Dr. Siskin’s has been an active member of the ACS divisions of Fuel and Petroleum Chemistry throughout his career.
